Binding

Stapled or perfect-bound.

The page count usually decides. Between 40 and 64 pages both work, and it comes down to the look you want.

8–64 pages

Stapled

Two wire staples through the fold. Opens flat, light to post, and the most economical binding. The page count must be a multiple of four.

40–400 pages

Perfect-bound

Pages glued into a wrap-around cover with a square spine you can print the title on. Any even page count. Suited to annual reports, catalogues and thicker issues.

Paper

Paper and cover weights.

Gloss for photos, matt for text-heavy pages, uncoated for a natural feel. A heavier cover keeps the magazine from curling.
